“MEMORIES” focuses on portraits of people who have become cultural icons - faces that shape our collective memory. The focus is not on the image itself, but on the resonance chamber of memory and
projection: How do we see people we have never met, but whom we believe we know from the media, symbolism, and history?
The series accentuates the tension between public role and inner reality. The iconic faces convey an impression of strength, courage, and charisma - yet at the same time they show traces of
vulnerability and doubt. This simultaneity is not dramatized, but rather readable as human truth that oscillates between myth and personality.
The artist uses similar techniques to those in “PRESENCE,” but shifts the focus: spontaneous, powerful brushstrokes open up areas of fragmentation and movement; delicate lines and transparent
layers reveal subtle nuances beneath the surface. The familiar appears different at the same time - composed of memory, media images, and inner imagination. “MEMORIES” thus shows how a face
changes over time: in the flow of history, reception, and collective perception.
In this way, the artist's vision becomes concrete: art as a counter-space to sensory overload, helping to reinterpret silent signals. The portraits open up a critical proximity to icons -
detached from expectation and myth, with an eye to the fragile simultaneity of charisma and fragility. The experience of these portraits challenges precisely that reading of nonverbal
communication that formulates the artist's mission.
